Karen Lawrence, MSN, PHN, RN-BC, CCM
Owner/Director of Nursing
Karen earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts and her Master of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Phoenix, summa cum laude. She is certified in Gerontological Nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is a licensed public health nurse. Karen is also a Certified Case Manager and a member of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers. She has over 30 years of experience working with elder adults in long term care and as an educator working with long-term care nurses and care providers. Karen serves Matrix clients throughout the metro area.
Bruce earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. He worked in disc drive development for 29 years and retired from Seagate Technology to join Matrix full time in May of 2013. At Seagate, Bruce held positions as a design engineer, engineering manager and engineering director in the product development group. At Matrix, he is responsible for the non-care related business areas including finances, human resources, legal and insurance.
- Sherry Carpenter
Sherry coordinates the Activity Program at Grace Homes. She also sings and dances with residents, and plays accordion. Sherry is one of the founders of Music Memories, an organization that provides interactive music sessions for elderly persons in long term care facilities. She also was Assistant House Manager for 5+ years for a Hammer Residence with provides long term care for persons with disabilities.

Our Caregivers Are Specially Trained in Memory Care
All of our caregivers at Grace Homes are Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and are specially trained in memory care. Newly hired staff complete 8 training sessions on dementia prior to caring for our residents. Our staff receive training on a regular basis on the most up-to-date information on how to best work with seniors with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
